Tuscany and the Taste of “Americano”

The delightful Donegan’s and I landed in Tuscany Thursday night. So far, the transition from Palermo to Tuscany has been pretty smooth. We are all full of positive energy and we are excited to discover what Pisa has to offer us.

We took a little trip around the town to see some of the nearby neighborhoods and shops. The views in Tuscany are just as beautiful as they are in Palermo!

I had this weird moment today…it was like I was in awe of being alive. Existing.

For a split second I was like, “Whoa, I’m part of the universe.” It was crazy.

I’m so thankful to be alive & to be where I am today.🙏

Our time in Palermo has come to an end. I really enjoyed myself in the small town of Sferracavallo!

Great food!

just BEAUTIFUL!

I really appreciated how helpful and caring the townspeople were. Even though we barely spoke a word of Italian and they English, they still went out of their way to help us.

The people of the town Sferracavallo just wrapped up a big celebration for the lives of Saint Cosmas and Damian. Here is the background of why they put together this week long festival in honor of these two saints from information that I’ve heard from the towns people…

Taste of Italy: The Dining Experience

Taste of Italy: The Dining Experience

This is my first time ever visiting a country outside of the United States. One thing about America is that you can always find something to eat and you can find it fast. So fast that home cooking is not an extreme norm. Well, at least not in my “norm”.

So getting to Italy not only shocked me mentally (by not understanding anything that anyone is saying) but it shocked my taste buds!

Our first…

Had to reblog this from @daddyweeks413 because everyone & their mama knows my favorite color is orange lol. Now let me ruin the fun: orange (the fruit) came first. Then the color. I guess lol I read that orange (the color) comes from the fruit (kind of like violet & amber comes from the plant & the stone)
I’ve said too much lol #BYE #NERD #ORANGE

"What in the World!?" Wednesday

Traveling to different countries can present some very “head tilting” and “eye squinting” moments.

This “WITW” moment is that I’m always seeing a random shoe somewhere in the street! I’ll have to do some research to see if this has any meaning but…I’ve seen this in 3 different areas of Palermo!

It’s always ONE shoe!

Like, what in the world!? Ha!
